- label/button ratio
- naming convention

Check this out: In addition to the terminology presented in the PowerPoint tutorial on Designing with Tables, you should also have mastered these terms and phrases, covered in class, Thursday, October 14:
- Scan a page (scanning a page; page scannability)
- balance
- layout or design flaws
- culturally determined design decisions
- wireframe
- Web graphics optimization (optimization for the Web)
Assignment one is almost completely graded. I will pass it back to you at the end of class on Thursday, October 21. In the meantime, keep chipping away at assignment two.

Check this out: I'm really enjoying your Web sites. Some of you went all out and were very creative!
Here are the key Web design terms we covered in class, Thursday, October 7:
- WMF = Windows Meta File graphic
- vector graphics (math)
- raster graphics (bitmapped)
- pixelation, jaggies, rectangular or square pixels
- sizing handles and distortion
- corner sizing handles = maintain aspect ratio
- image resampling and file size
- jpg (16,777,216 colors)
- gif (256 colors)
- image down-sizing
- image up-sizing
- image cropping
- Picture tool bar or palette (docking, undocking, or detaching)
