Web Model and Final Assignment Instructions
Check this out:Here is the
Web model we looked at briefly in class early in the semester.
Note especially in assignment three the various ways that you can parcel out or "chunk" your work into separate pages (an expectation of the specifications). The possible categories listed in the model are largely meant to be suggestive and not exhaustive.
Your third assignment, due Tuesday, December 13, NLT 5:00, should be printed out (browser-rendered view and XHTML) and taken to Gail Wessell in
Smith 121. Be sure also to hand in Assignments 1 and 2 (ask Gail for an envelope or some rubber bands to hold all of this). Do not just leave your assignment on someone's desk in
Smith 121. Give it to Gail and sign the sheet indicating that you have dropped it off.
Let me know if you have any questions (

State & Country Drop-Down (Pop-up) Elements for Use in Dreamweaver, Assignment Three
Check this out:This handy little
state drop-down element and this
country drop-down element will save you a great deal of typing. (Warning: These links open in new browser windows.) After opening a linked file, just copy the markup to the clipboard, and in code view paste it in your document at the desired place. Or if you prefer, save the file to your assign3 folder, then open, and take it from there.
You are free to use these form elements in Dreamweaver, whenever you need to, especially in your final assignment.
Feel free to comment below, or if you have questions, just e-mail me at

Let's Set Dreamweaver's FTP One More Time in Class on Tuesday, 12/06/05
Check this out:Well, they did it again. Smith 110 has been re-imaged, so . . . .
Some of you have been having a little difficulty using Dreamweaver's FTP utility. It can be a little confusing, so I hope this advice will help.
When you come to class, be sure to put the latest copy of your Web site on the c:/ drive (most likely a drag and drop from your m:/ drive) to a subdirectory with your last name. Example:
C:\Documents and Settings\wbuchholz\My Documents\My Web Sites\buchholz\.
Once you've done this, invoke the wizard to set your specs. The key screen in the wizard is the one where you actually hook to the server and your folder on the server. Here is a screen shot to refresh your memory (click to enlarge for easier viewing):

If you need some help with this whole process, just e-mail me at wbuchholz@bentley.edu for more advice . . . . or wait until class and we'll quickly take it from there.
Please feel free to comment on this post (nothing dirty, though) and I will respond for all to see.
