Online Resources
Qualitative research is supported through the ATC at Bentley College in a number of ways. Here are some of the software packages that are available for faculty:
- QSR's NVivo - a software package useful for analyzing qualitative data
- Provalis Research's WordStat - a software for content analysis of qualitative data
- SPSS Text Anaylsis - designed specifically to analyze qualitative data produced from surveys
- Perseus Survey Solutions - used for creating online surveys
Workshops and individual instruction in NVivo, SPSS text analysis, and Perseus are given by Bayar “Tumen” Tumennasan, and Maria Skaletsky of the ATC. They also provide guidance in study design and research methods.
Steve Salina, Manager of Instructional and Research Video Technologies, helps faculty in capturing and editing video for qualitative research projects. These professional quality videos can be displayed in a variety of formats, such as tape-based video, streamed audio/video on the web, or digital audio/video that can be incorporated into PowerPoint or multimedia applications.
